Established in 2021 by industry veterans Nick Hutchinson, L.S., and Justin Shimp, P.E., the firm combines extensive experience in both Land Surveying and Civil Engineering.

Driven by a focus on quality and client satisfaction, Foresight Survey P.C. has rapidly expanded its footprint through the acquisition of two well-established firms: Old Dominion Map Company in Nelson County and Stanley Land Surveys in Fluvanna County. These acquisitions have enhanced the firm’s service offerings and strengthened its ties to Virginia’s surveying heritage. Today, Foresight proudly serves clients across the entire state.

Justin Shimp brings deep insight into the area’s land planning and civil engineering landscape. With extensive experience in land development, he approaches each project with creative, solution-driven thinking tailored to the unique demands of the site. Known for his hands-on, practical style, Justin collaborates closely with clients to produce plans that are both efficient and thoughtfully designed. (He also founded Shimp Engineering in 2010, which continues to serve the region with a strong focus on local expertise.)
